My name is Lauren. I go by Please Don't Chew So Loudly, because I canné stand when people chew so loudly. It conjures up a deep, visceral vibration inside my body. Why choose something that gives me the 'ick'? It's a call out to like-minded people, really. Like attracts like.
I don't specialise in a particular medium when it comes to my visual arts practice (kind of like my personality) but the one common thread through all of my work is that it's all fun. Fun paintings, fun resin castings, fun digital prints etc etc.
I spend my time these days hanging with my daughter, who is truly one of the best humans to have entered this weird, wonderful, chaotic and confusing world.
I occasionaly facilitate art workshops; as well as group work I also like to work one-on-one with people who like to take time out from thier everyday, in a therapeutic way.
I have a passion for fusing my practice with mental health and creating a non judgemntal, all inclusive environment when I teach.
Most of all, I love making art in whatever medium strikes me and am so lucky that there are my fellow peeps out there who support me in what I do. What a treat!
